Gender Equity Reading Initiative

The Gender Equity Reading Initiative (GERI) is a program developed by Safe Haven Ministries that utilizes children’s literature as a primary component of violence prevention. They have created a list of age-appropriate books for children and teens that explore alternatives to violent conflict.

GERI was looking to build an online platform that would engage the reader into deeper learning experiences with the materials while also providing valuable insights into how users were using the website.

A New Look for the Gender Equity Reading Initiative

Using the Learndash platform, CurlyHost built a bright and culturally sensitive site that features an online curriculum to support readers and families. Users are able to register, login, and create a profile that tracks their progress through each lesson and saves their place where they left off. Books are categorized by both age level and theme, to create an easily browsable site that allows users to find pertinent books that they may not know about.

The CurlyCrew absolutely loved partnering with Next Stage Labs! Every step of the way they provided great feedback with their new branding assets and website! It was fun working with a group of women that are experts in the field of the ornamental plant industry – make sure to check out their site!
