IATSE is the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. As an international organization, it has many local chapters. Local 26 (abbreviated IATSE26) is the jurisdiction of West Michigan. As IATSE26 writes, “We are stagehands, the men and women in black, working behind the scenes to ensure your entertainment experience is first-rate.”

IATSE26 offers rigging, lighting, set design, and even major motion picture production. IATSE26 is one of the oldest locals, with a National Alliance charter from 1894. Serving a well-established organization with thousands of key players isn’t easy.
For this website project, we faced the challenge of making public information easily accessible, while hiding other information behind a login screen. IATSE26 employees need to access many contract-related documents. However, these cannot be available for the general public. We created a membership system and placed these documents in an employee portal. We even went to the extra step of encoding the PDF documents on the server side. This means that no one can access the documents without being logged in, even if they have the link. This is critical to protect sensitive documentation.
The IATSE26 website features many unique design elements, including trendy overlapping elements. For a local chapter so old, it has a modern, fresh look. Auto-rotating slideshows, animating elements and parallax scrolling create an engaging user experience.
IATSE26 members work behind the scenes to create a great experience. Like them, we’ve been working behind the curtain of their website to create a phenomenal presentation.
